Real-estate investor Infracore has augmented its offer to acquire the real estate assets of Spital Wetzikon in Switzerland and extended the offer's validity through October 31, 2026, the company said Thursday.
Infracore is providing fallback liquidity to GZO AG, the hospital's operator, to cover the event that no bank financing materializes. The firm also committed to short-term financing of up to 10 million Swiss francs as needed.
Should a bank facility based on GZO AG's outstanding claims not be secured by the end of the third quarter of 2027, Infracore said it will step in to finance up to 80% of the eligible debtor portfolio directly, eliminating the need for a capital injection from the shareholder municipalities.
The transaction could be executed swiftly, Infracore said, with closing contingent only on creditors approving a debt-restructuring agreement. The structure is also compatible with a potential acquisition of the hospital's operating business by Thurgau-based Thurmed hospital group, the company added.
Infracore further committed to fully financing the completion of an expansion building once GZO AG's core operations stabilize.
Infracore has been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since July 2026. The company raised approximately 200 million Swiss francs through a capital increase at its listing. Aevis Victoria, the investment company behind Infracore, did not sell any shares in the offering. The capital increase diluted Aevis Victoria's direct and indirect stake to 22.6% from 29.8%.
Infracore also owns the Bethanien private clinic on Zurich's Zürichberg, which is part of its portfolio.
