IMI plc announced the appointment of Claudio Simao as an independent non-executive director, effective Jan. 1, 2027. Simao will also join the company's nomination committee upon taking up his role.
The announcement was made in compliance with UK Listing Rule 6.4.6R.
Simao brings more than 30 years of experience in industrial technology and digital transformation. He previously held senior positions at Hexagon AB, including chief technology officer and president and CEO of several business divisions, with a background spanning technology strategy, acquisitions and business transformation.
He currently serves as chair of the board of directors at u-blox Holding AG, a provider of positioning and wireless communication technologies, a company that was listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange until May 2026. Simao also advises industrial and technology companies as well as private equity firms.
Jamie Pike, chair of IMI, said Simao's technology expertise and international experience would support the company's growth strategy and technological capabilities.
