Humanoid Global Holdings Corp. named Sunny Ray as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately, following the resignation of Shahab Samimi. The Vancouver-based company, which operates through a portfolio of firms in humanoid robotics and embodied artificial intelligence, said Ray will also retain his position on the board.
Ray, an engineer and entrepreneur with experience in robotics, embodied AI, advanced automation and digital assets, succeeds Samimi, who stepped down on Aug. 21. Humanoid Global said the transition reflects its focus on scaling operations within the humanoid robotics sector.
As part of the appointment, Humanoid Global will grant Ray 200,000 stock options exercisable at $0.32 per share for five years. The options will vest immediately upon issuance, subject to the company’s Stock Option Plan, regulatory approvals and applicable securities law hold periods.
Samimi’s departure follows agreements to accelerate the vesting of certain stock options and restricted share units under his consultant agreement. The company also committed to paying consulting fees earned through his resignation date and a contingent finder’s fee related to a transaction opportunity he previously introduced. Humanoid Global is publicly traded under tickers CSE: ROBO, FWB: 0XM1 and OTCQB: RBOHF.
