Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) announced executive changes across two core business units, effective October 1, as part of ongoing leadership transitions within its Process Automation & Technology segment.
Billal Hammoud will assume the role of President and CEO of Process Technology, succeeding Ken West, who is leaving the company on August 31 to pursue an external opportunity. Hammoud, who most recently led Honeywell’s Building Automation business since 2023, previously oversaw Smart Energy and Thermal Solutions within the Performance Materials and Technologies division. His tenure at Building Automation saw annual organic growth rise from 2% in 2023 to 8% in 2025, according to company data.
Juan Picon has been appointed President and CEO of Building Automation, replacing Hammoud. Picon rejoined Honeywell in 2024 as President of the Fire Life Safety business before advancing to President of Building Automation Americas. His prior 18-year tenure at Honeywell included executive roles at Sensata Technologies, WESCO Distribution, and General Cable. In 2025, he received Honeywell’s Chairman’s Award.
Both Hammoud and Picon will report to Vimal Kapur, Honeywell’s Chairman and CEO. The company, which employs over 50,000 people, also highlighted Hammoud’s involvement in strategy execution and merger integration, including Honeywell’s $4.95 billion acquisition of Access Solutions.
