German equities ended lower on Monday, with the DAX down 0.07% as losses in technology, construction and industrial shares offset gains in other sectors.
On the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, declining issues outnumbered advancers by 354 to 306, with 32 issues unchanged. The DAX’s 0.07% decline followed a 0.03% drop in the MDAX and a 0.91% fall in the TecDAX. The DAX New Volatility Index fell 5.45% to 16.08.
Among the DAX’s top performers, Beiersdorf AG rose 2.11% to €81.28, Deutsche Bank AG added 2.10% to €33.06 and Daimler Truck Holding AG gained 2.07% to €46.37. The worst performers included Infineon Technologies AG, down 3.23% to €54.16, Siemens Energy AG, which fell 3.01% to €148.74, and Rheinmetall AG, which declined 2.61% to €1,125.20.
In the MDAX, Wacker Chemie led gains with a 4.14% advance to €93.10, followed by Deutsche Lufthansa AG, up 2.37% to €7.79, and Evonik Industries AG, which rose 2.29% to €18.80 and hit a 52-week high. The worst performers included Aumovio SE, down 3.96% to €35.15, RENK Group AG, which fell 2.88% to €46.44, and Hensoldt AG, down 2.60% to €86.98.
The TecDAX saw 1&1 AG rise 2.55% to €22.10, United Internet AG gain 0.90% to €24.78 and Siemens Healthineers AG advance 0.47% to €40.39. The largest decliners were SUSS MicroTec SE, down 5.99% to €69.05, SMA Solar Technology AG, which fell 3.61% to €54.75, and Eckert & Ziegler Bebig, which dropped 3.44% to €13.18 and reached a 52-week low.
Commodities and currencies showed mixed performance. Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.74% to $4,715.14 per troy ounce, while crude oil for October delivery fell 2.64% to $84.76 per barrel. Brent oil futures for November delivery declined 2.27% to $90.57 per barrel. The EUR/USD pair was unchanged at 1.17, EUR/GBP held steady at 0.86, and the U.S. Dollar Futures Index decreased 0.17% to 98.90.
