BUCHAREST — Romanian investment fund Fondul Proprietatea reported a 14% net asset value (NAV) return for the first half of 2026, according to a company statement on Monday.
The fund, which holds stakes in major Romanian state-owned enterprises, said its NAV rose to RON 5.2 billion ($1.2 billion) as of June 30, up from RON 4.6 billion at the end of 2025. The performance was driven by gains in equities held within the portfolio, particularly in the energy and utilities sectors.
Fondul Proprietatea’s management highlighted contributions from investments in companies such as Romgaz and Hidroelectrica, which benefited from elevated energy prices and improved operational efficiency. The fund’s portfolio also includes holdings in financial services and industrial firms.
For the same period in 2025, the fund recorded a 10% NAV return, reflecting a year-over-year acceleration in performance. The company attributed the outperformance to stronger market sentiment and higher dividend yields from portfolio companies.
The fund’s liquidity position remained stable, with cash and equivalents totaling RON 1.1 billion, supporting its ability to meet redemption requests and pursue new investment opportunities.
Fondul Proprietatea, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, is one of Romania’s largest investment funds by assets under management, with a mandate to privatize and manage state-owned assets.
