Fitch lifts Teledyne Technologies rating on cash flow strength
Credit agency upgrades Teledyne Technologies to 'A-' from 'BBB+' citing robust cash generation and stable financial profile.

Fitch Ratings upgraded Teledyne Technologies Incorporated's long-term issuer default rating to 'A-' from 'BBB+' on Friday, citing the company's strong cash flow generation and conservative financial management.
The upgrade reflects Teledyne's consistent ability to convert earnings into cash, with free cash flow totaling $1.2 billion in 2023, up 15% from the prior year. Fitch also highlighted the company's diversified revenue streams across industrial, aerospace and defense, and digital imaging segments.
The credit agency noted that Teledyne's leverage ratio improved to 1.8x in 2023, down from 2.1x in 2022, supporting the rating upgrade. The company's liquidity position remains strong, with $1.5 billion in cash and equivalents at the end of December 2023.
Teledyne's shares were down 0.3% in premarket trading on Friday following the announcement. The company has not yet commented on the rating change.
Fitch maintained a stable outlook on the rating, indicating that further upgrades are possible if the company continues to generate strong cash flows and maintains its conservative financial policies.
