Evolution Metals appoints former U.S. Air Force general to board
Appointment adds defense and strategic metals expertise to the leadership team as Evolution Metals advances its Nevada lithium project.
Evolution Metals has appointed retired U.S. Air Force General Charles Q. Brown Jr. to its board of directors, the company said on Monday.
Brown, who previously served as the 20th Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, brings extensive experience in defense and strategic operations to Evolution Metals. His appointment follows the company’s focus on developing its lithium project in Nevada, a critical mineral for electric vehicle battery production.
The lithium project, located in the McDermitt Caldera, is positioned as a key domestic source of lithium, a component in high-demand energy storage technologies. Evolution Metals has emphasized the strategic importance of securing domestic supply chains amid rising global demand for lithium and other critical minerals.
Brown’s addition to the board is expected to enhance Evolution Metals’ ability to navigate regulatory, operational, and strategic challenges in the mining sector. The company did not disclose financial terms related to the appointment.
Evolution Metals shares were trading 2.1% higher at $0.45 in midday trading on Monday, reflecting a modest gain following the announcement.
