Evercore has hired two senior bankers from Robert W. Baird & Co. to bolster its advisory business in the defense and government services sectors, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Jean Stack and John Song will join Evercore as senior managing directors, effective in the coming months, with plans to establish a presence in the Washington region. The expansion includes the opening of a new office in Virginia, where Evercore aims to grow its sponsor coverage and middle-market advisory capabilities.
The hires, which have not yet been finalized, may also include additional members from Stack and Song’s teams at Baird. The move reflects Evercore’s strategy to deepen its expertise in aerospace, defense, and government services, areas with sustained demand for financial advisory services.
Evercore did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
