Ethereum devs narrow proposals for Hegotá privacy upgrade
Six proposals remain for the Hegotá upgrade, which aims to enhance native privacy in Ethereum applications. Developers seek to finalize specifications by late 2025.

Ethereum developers have reduced a pool of 66 proposals to six for the upcoming Hegotá upgrade, which seeks to introduce native privacy features for Ethereum applications.
The upgrade, designed to enhance privacy within the Ethereum network, is part of broader efforts to improve scalability and functionality. Developers aim to finalize the specifications for Hegotá by late 2025, according to a statement from the Ethereum Foundation.
The narrowing of proposals follows extensive community and developer input, with a focus on balancing privacy enhancements with network efficiency. The selected proposals will undergo further testing and refinement before implementation.
Hegotá’s privacy features are expected to benefit decentralized applications (dApps) by enabling more secure and private transactions. The upgrade is part of Ethereum’s ongoing evolution to address scalability and usability challenges.
