Ellery’s Grill, a restaurant in Middlesex, New Jersey, will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a weeklong event in March 2027, the establishment announced on September 9, 2026.
Owner John Ellery said the celebration will include live music, live-band karaoke, a performance by a local band and televised sporting events. Ellery began working at the restaurant—originally operating as The Lincoln Hotel—at age 18, before later taking ownership.
Before entering the restaurant business, Ellery worked in the boating industry and the Snap-on tool business. His longtime mentor, Frank Mortillo, was instrumental in his early career; Mortillo has since passed away.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, indoor dining was suspended, prompting Ellery’s Grill to shift toward takeout and delivery services. Community members contributed toward supporting those efforts during the shutdown period, Ellery noted.
The restaurant operates two dining rooms, a large patio area for on-premise events, a catering hall, and outdoor event tent services for parties ranging from 20 to 120 guests. Future plans include expanded logistical arrangements for private gatherings at a nearby facility, along with a gradual transition of day-to-day management responsibilities to team members.
Ellery described his approach to community involvement, saying the restaurant has an obligation to give back to the people and causes around it after three decades of support.
