Deutsche Telekom agreed to acquire Polish fiber-optic providers Fiberhost and Inea for a combined €1 billion, the company said on Monday.
The acquisitions will expand Deutsche Telekom’s fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in Poland, a key growth market for the group’s European operations. Financial terms were not disclosed beyond the €1 billion total valuation.
Fiberhost operates in Poland’s fiber broadband sector, while Inea is a regional provider serving cities including Bydgoszcz and Toruń. The deals follow Deutsche Telekom’s strategy to bolster high-speed internet access across Central and Eastern Europe.
The transactions are expected to close in the second half of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. Deutsche Telekom did not specify whether the acquisitions would impact its financial guidance for the year.
A company spokesperson declined to comment on potential synergies or integration plans beyond confirming the strategic rationale to expand fiber infrastructure.
Deutsche Telekom, which already owns a majority stake in Polish mobile operator T-Mobile Polska, has been investing heavily in fiber expansion to meet rising demand for high-speed connectivity across Europe.
