Denmark’s benchmark OMX Copenhagen 20 index closed 0.97% higher on Friday, extending gains across the session as strong performance in the consumer goods, personal and household goods, and healthcare sectors offset declines in industrials and energy-linked names.
Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by a margin of 90 to 31 on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange, with 17 stocks ending the day unchanged. The OMX Copenhagen 20 finished at 1,234.50, reflecting broad-based buying interest into the weekend.
AP Moeller - Maersk A/S led the advance, with both its A and B shares posting gains of 3.69% and 3.49%, respectively. The B share closed at 21,620.00, while the A share ended at 20,740.00, contributing the largest single-day point gains to the index. Rockwool AS B also rose 2.22% to 203.00.
Decliners included Vestas Wind Systems A/S, which fell 1.98% to 208.30, and Novozymes AS, which slipped 0.38% to 450.60. Danske Bank A/S remained flat at 367.90.
Commodities showed mixed performance, with December gold futures rising 1.95% to $4,660.76 per troy ounce. Crude oil for October delivery declined 0.47% to $86.42 per barrel, while Brent crude for October delivery edged up 0.06% to $93.84 per barrel.
Foreign exchange markets saw limited movement, with the USD/DKK pair unchanged at 6.40 and EUR/DKK steady at 7.48. The US Dollar Index futures slipped 0.03% to 98.78.
