Denmark’s benchmark equity index ended higher on Wednesday as gains in consumer goods, chemicals and oil and gas shares offset declines in industrials and brewing.
The OMX Copenhagen 20 added 0.28% at the close in Copenhagen, paring earlier losses after a mixed session. Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by 48 to 70, with 15 issues unchanged.
Top performers included Zealand Pharma A/S, which rose 3.15% to 321.40 points, and Vestas Wind Systems A/S, up 2.50% at 209.30. Genmab climbed 2.28% to 2,152.00. The gains were partially offset by declines in Rockwool AS B, which fell 5.01% to 212.00, and Carlsberg A/S B, down 2.11% at 889.20.
Oil prices advanced, with October WTI crude up 1.55% to $85.36 per barrel and Brent for October delivery rising 1.42% to $92.31. December gold futures gained 2.74% to $4,541.70 per troy ounce, extending a recent rally.
The Danish krone weakened against the dollar, with USD/DKK down 0.72% to 6.41, while EUR/DKK held steady at 7.48. The U.S. Dollar Index futures fell 0.72% to 98.84.
