Denmark’s OMX Copenhagen 20 closed 0.22% higher on Thursday, as gains in the oil and gas, consumer goods and technology sectors offset declines in healthcare and industrials.
The benchmark index added 0.22% to finish at 2,125.30, according to exchange data. Advancing stocks outnumbered decliners by 61 to 55, with 21 issues unchanged.
Zealand Pharma A/S led the advance among components, rising 2.24% to 310.50 DKK. AP Moeller - Maersk A/S B shares climbed 2.17% to 21,670 DKK, while its A shares gained 1.86% to 20,800 DKK. The shipping group’s gains followed a rise in crude oil prices, which supported energy-linked equities.
Coloplast A/S was the top decliner, falling 3.17% to 463.90 DKK. ISS A/S and Pandora A/S also declined, down 1.48% and 1.41% respectively.
Oil prices rose, with October WTI crude up 0.96% to $91.88 per barrel and November Brent crude up 0.73% to $96.33. December gold futures gained 3.17%, closing at $4,554.54 per troy ounce.
The Danish krone weakened 0.31% against the U.S. dollar, with USD/DKK trading at 6.43. The euro-dollar exchange rate was little changed at 7.47 DKK per euro. The U.S. Dollar Index futures fell 0.61% to 98.94.
