Coinbase and Webull have extended their cryptocurrency infrastructure partnership to Canada, enabling Webull Canada Crypto Limited to offer institutional-grade custody and trading services to Canadian investors through Coinbase's Crypto-as-a-Service platform.
The collaboration leverages Coinbase's existing infrastructure, which already supports Webull's crypto offerings in the United States, Brazil, and Australia. Under the arrangement, Coinbase will provide liquidity access and custody services for Webull Canada Crypto Limited, a regulated entity overseen by the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) and a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF).
Crypto assets held via Webull's platform in Canada are not covered by CIPF protection, the companies noted. Coinbase Canada, Inc. is registered as a Restricted Dealer across all Canadian provinces and territories.
The expansion follows a survey by the Ontario Securities Commission indicating that crypto asset ownership in Canada reached 25% of the population in 2026, up from 10% in 2023. Michael Constantino, CEO of Webull Canada, said the partnership with Coinbase ensures "the infrastructure needed to deliver this offering with the scale and reliability our clients expect."
Webull Canada Crypto Limited operates under regulatory oversight from CIRO, while Coinbase Canada maintains compliance as a Restricted Dealer nationwide.
