Clarity Metals Corp., listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE: CMET), OTC Pink (CLGCF) and Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FSE: 27G0), is set to finalize a deal to acquire an 80% stake in the Bobcat copper project in Idaho, a property located within the Salmon-Challis National Forest, roughly 20 kilometers north of Salmon. The transaction, valued at 20 million units priced at $0.05 each, is scheduled for completion by September 2026, contingent on regulatory approvals from the Canadian Securities Exchange and other relevant authorities.
The project, comprising 50 unpatented lode mining claims covering about 418.63 hectares, includes the historic Lang Mine, which produced approximately 5,000 ounces of gold in the 1930s. Previous drilling by Cominco American Incorporated between 1977 and 1981 yielded notable results, including a 100.13-meter interval in drill hole BC-1 containing 0.36% copper, and a sub-interval of 32.01 meters with 0.57% copper. However, Clarity has cautioned that these historic data have not been independently verified, and the company has not reviewed original assay certificates or drill hole locations, advising against relying on them.
The acquisition will see BG Copper Corp. as the seller, with Kluane Capital FZCO and Cloudbreak Discovery PLC each holding a 10% carried interest in the property until Clarity completes a positive pre-feasibility study. The parties intend to form a joint venture post-study to develop the project. No finders’ fees will be paid, and the shares involved are subject to a statutory four-month and one-day hold period.
The transaction underscores Clarity’s focus on expanding its copper portfolio, a critical commodity for industrial applications and energy transition initiatives. The Bobcat project’s potential, though contingent on further exploration and development, aligns with broader industry trends toward securing strategic mineral assets in the U.S. midwest, where copper production and processing are increasingly prioritized.
