Centene Corp. said on Monday it appointed Christopher Neczypor as chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1, 2027.
Neczypor, currently executive vice president and CFO of Centene’s Medicaid and Medicare businesses, will succeed Drew Asher, who will retire at the end of December after more than 15 years with the company. Centene did not disclose additional terms of Neczypor’s appointment.
The St. Louis-based insurer, which operates under brands including WellCare and Ambetter, said the transition will allow Asher to complete his planned retirement and Neczypor to assume the CFO role at the start of 2027. Centene’s shares were little changed in pre-market trading following the announcement.
Neczypor joined Centene in 2011 and has held several finance leadership roles, including CFO of its Medicaid and Medicare segments since 2022. Asher, who has been CFO since 2019, will remain with Centene through the end of the year to support the transition.
