Cardiff Lexington Q2 2026 loss widens as shares plunge 22%
Second-quarter net loss deepened amid weak demand and rising costs, triggering a sharp selloff in shares.

Cardiff Lexington reported a wider second-quarter loss on Tuesday, with shares falling 22% as investors reacted to deteriorating financial performance and dimmed outlook.
The specialty materials group posted a net loss of $18.7 million for the three months ended June 30, 2026, compared with a $12.3 million loss in the same period a year earlier. Revenue declined 14% year-over-year to $112.4 million, reflecting weaker demand across key end markets.
Operating expenses rose 8% to $31.2 million, driven by higher raw material and logistics costs. The company’s gross margin contracted to 22.1% from 25.7% in Q2 2025, as pricing pressure offset cost-saving measures.
Cardiff Lexington’s chief executive warned of continued headwinds in the second half, citing softening demand in industrial and automotive segments. The firm also revised its full-year revenue guidance downward, now expecting a 9% to 11% decline versus prior guidance of a 5% to 7% drop.
Shares of Cardiff Lexington tumbled 22% in early trading, extending losses to 38% over the past month. The stock has underperformed its peers in the materials sector, which have declined an average of 12% over the same period.
Analysts at Jefferies downgraded the stock to hold from buy, citing the weak outlook and elevated cost structure. The firm maintained a $28 price target, below the current trading level of $24.50.
Cardiff Lexington did not provide an updated earnings outlook for 2027 but noted that capital expenditure would be reduced by 15% to preserve liquidity amid uncertain market conditions.
