Burjeel Holdings PLC announced on Wednesday that Chief Financial Officer Muhammed Shihabuddin will resign, effective September 30, to pursue personal and professional opportunities.
The company, which operates a $1.5 billion trust certificate issuance program through Burjeel Sukuk Limited, said Shihabuddin will remain in office until the end of September to facilitate an orderly transition. The Board of Directors has initiated a search for a successor, with regulatory disclosures to follow once a replacement is appointed.
Burjeel Holdings emphasized that its operations, financial reporting processes, and strategic initiatives will continue under the existing leadership team and governance structure. The company did not disclose further details regarding the resignation or the search process.
Shihabuddin’s departure coincides with the company’s $500 million trust certificate issuance maturing in 2031, which carries a 7.00% interest rate. The trust certificate program, established in Abu Dhabi, remains a key component of Burjeel Holdings’ financing framework.
