The Buckle, Inc. reported second-quarter results that exceeded Wall Street expectations, driven by a 4.6% increase in revenue to $319.8 million. The Kearney, Nebraska-based retailer posted adjusted earnings per share of $0.87, topping the consensus estimate of $0.81 by 7 cents.
Comparable store sales rose 2.1% year-over-year, while online sales grew 2.3% to $44.6 million, up from $43.6 million a year earlier. Net income for the quarter totaled $44.4 million, slightly below the $45.0 million reported in the same period of fiscal 2025.
For the 26-week period ended August 1, 2026, net sales increased 5.3% to $608.6 million, with comparable store net sales up 3.5%. Online sales for the half-year period climbed 2.5% to $92.2 million. Net income reached $91.3 million, or $1.79 per diluted share, compared with $80.2 million, or $1.59 per diluted share, in the prior-year period.
The retailer operated 446 stores across 42 states at the end of the fiscal quarter, up from 440 stores in the same period last year. Shares were largely unchanged in pre-market trading, down 0.33% following the earnings release.
