BTCPay Offers $190,000 Bounty Following Wallet Exploit
The open-source payment processor is offering a bounty of up to 3 BTC after attackers drained merchant Lightning wallets.
BTCPay has offered a reward amounting to 10% of recovered funds, capped at 3 BTC—equivalent to approximately $190,000—following an exploit that drained merchant Lightning wallets last week.
According to the project, attackers managed to compromise Lightning Network Daemon (LND) credentials, allowing them to siphon funds from user servers. BTCPay is now incentivizing the return or recovery of the stolen assets through the bounty program while investigating the security breach.
