Branded Legacy Inc. (OTC: BLEG), based in Vancouver, British Columbia, announced the acquisition of Bletchley Robotics Inc., a Canadian defense robotics developer.
Bletchley Robotics is developing LADI-Hornet, an AI-commanded interceptor drone platform designed for air-to-air engagement against first-person-view (FPV) drones, loitering munitions, and other low-cost aerial threats. The company targets a unit price of approximately $2,000 to $8,000 per interceptor. Future development phases include unmanned ground vehicle platforms for logistics and defense applications, as well as a close-range point defense system.
Mackenzie Hughes, described as a Ukrainian Foreign Legion Special Forces veteran with operational drone warfare experience, will serve as CEO of the combined company. The advisory board includes Dr. Gennaro Notomista of the University of Waterloo, Ambassador and Admiral Mark Dybul of Georgetown University, and industrial engineer Mike Holl. Martin Mills leads business development, while Victoria Zou holds the role of Chief Development Officer.
Bletchley Robotics has established partnerships with Ukrainian interceptor engineers for technology transfer and battlefield validation.
The global counter-UAS market was valued at approximately $3 billion in 2024 and is projected to exceed $15 billion by 2030, according to industry analyst figures cited by Branded Legacy. In Canada, the government’s Defense Industrial Strategy outlines roughly $81.8 billion in modernization spending between 2025 and 2030.
Branded Legacy said it expects several additional acquisitions in the coming months and anticipates a name change for the public entity to reflect its pivot into the autonomous defense sector.
