Bitcoin Miner Rejects BIP-110 Despite Using Supportive Mining Pool
Simple Mining opted out of BIP-110 by using custom software settings, bypassing the default support provided by its mining pool, Ocean.

An individual bitcoin mining participant has demonstrated the network's decentralized nature by rejecting a proposed improvement protocol, despite routing its hashrate through a mining pool that officially supported the measure.
Ocean, a bitcoin mining pool, had previously backed Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 110 (BIP-110) by default for its participants. However, Simple Mining, an entity operating mining hardware through Ocean, utilized pool software that allows individual miners to exercise independent voting preferences.
By leveraging this functionality, Simple Mining chose to reject BIP-110, illustrating how pool-level consensus can be overridden at the individual hardware operator level when software architectures permit user-defined choices.
