MicroStrategy Inc. reported no change in its bitcoin holdings for the week ended Aug. 15, even as the company raised $333.7 million through a common stock offering. The proceeds were allocated toward bolstering dollar reserves and accelerating share buybacks of its Series C convertible preferred stock (STRC).
The company, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, has maintained its bitcoin treasury strategy despite recent market volatility. MicroStrategy has been a prominent corporate holder of bitcoin, with its holdings remaining unchanged at approximately 214,400 BTC as of the latest disclosure. The firm has previously cited long-term bitcoin exposure as a core component of its capital allocation strategy.
In addition to the stock sale, MicroStrategy executed further buybacks of its STRC shares last week, reducing dilution for existing shareholders. The company did not disclose the total value of STRC repurchases completed during the period. The move follows a broader trend of corporate treasuries and institutional investors reassessing digital asset allocations amid shifting macroeconomic conditions.
MicroStrategy’s latest financial maneuver underscores its dual approach of leveraging equity markets for liquidity while preserving its bitcoin holdings. The company has not signaled any imminent plans to sell its bitcoin reserves, which remain a central pillar of its corporate strategy.
