Binance is reportedly planning a relaunch in the United Kingdom by pursuing a regulatory license from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The exchange's UK operations have been barred from offering regulated financial activities in the country since June 2021, when the regulator issued a consumer warning and ordered Binance Markets Limited to halt all regulated activities.
Despite the prior restrictions, the company intends to move forward with licensing efforts under the UK's updated regulatory framework for digital assets. The move signals a renewed effort by the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume to establish a compliant footprint in a key European market following years of regulatory friction.
