Bernstein Research maintained its Market-Perform rating on Nestlé shares on Wednesday, assigning a CHF 74 price target. The U.S. research firm cited mixed scanner data from the American consumer packaged goods (CPG) sector over the past four weeks, according to analyst Callum Elliott.
The data showed household goods performing relatively well, while food categories lagged. Personal care and cosmetics remained robust, offsetting weaker food trends. Bernstein’s assessment reflects the uneven demand dynamics currently shaping the U.S. CPG market.
Nestlé’s rating and price target were unchanged in the latest update, which was published on Aug. 19. The company’s ISIN is CH0038863350.
The broader CPG sector has faced pressure from shifting consumer preferences and inflationary pressures, though Nestlé’s diversified portfolio has historically provided some resilience. Bernstein’s neutral stance suggests limited near-term upside potential despite the company’s defensive positioning in the food and beverage space.
