Barclays PLC said its voting rights in Central Asia Metals PLC reached 5.57% as of Wednesday, up from a prior 5.21% stake, according to a regulatory filing with the London Stock Exchange.
The increase reflects a rise in Barclays Capital Securities Limited’s direct shareholding to 5.38% of voting rights, equivalent to 9,559,777 shares. The lender also holds an additional 0.19% through financial instruments, including 100,219 voting rights via a right to recall and 230,259 voting rights through cash-settled portfolio swaps.
The total voting rights held by Barclays now stand at 9,890,255, up from the previous total of 9,243,777. The portfolio swaps associated with the stake are set to expire between November 2026 and April 2027.
The disclosure was made under the UK’s Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules, which mandate notifications when shareholders cross specified ownership thresholds. Central Asia Metals, listed on the London Stock Exchange, operates mining assets in Central Asia.
