Baltic Classifieds to shift share trading to euros from sterling

Baltic Classifieds Group said on Monday it will shift its share trading currency from British pounds to euros, starting June 3.

The London-listed company, which operates digital classifieds platforms across the Baltics, cited growing investor demand from eurozone markets as the key driver for the change. The transition will not affect existing shareholder holdings, which will remain denominated in GBP.

The group’s primary listing will continue on the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market, but trades executed in euros will be facilitated through a designated market maker. Baltic Classifieds said the move is intended to enhance liquidity and accessibility for European investors, particularly those in the euro area.

The company did not provide specific details on the expected volume of euro-denominated trading but noted that the shift aligns with broader trends in cross-border investment within the region. Baltic Classifieds has approximately 1.2 billion shares outstanding, according to its latest market data.

The decision follows a review of investor feedback and market conditions, the company said. Baltic Classifieds did not disclose whether additional changes to its capital structure or corporate actions would accompany the currency shift.

Shares in Baltic Classifieds were unchanged in early trading on Monday, reflecting limited immediate market reaction to the announcement.
