Norwegian aquaculture firm Austevoll Seafood ASA reported second-quarter revenue of NOK 8.68 billion, falling short of the NOK 9.50 billion average analyst estimate compiled from six forecasts.
The company posted a net loss of NOK 254 million for the period, driven by non-cash fair value adjustments on biological assets. Adjusted EBITDA totaled NOK 1.16 billion, while adjusted EBIT came in at NOK 572 million. Unadjusted EBIT was negative NOK 484 million, with a pretax loss of NOK 623 million.
Revenue and earnings declined year-over-year amid lower volumes of slaughtered salmon and weaker price realization for trout. The company’s Peruvian subsidiary, Austral Group, was also impacted by the suspension of Peru’s first fishing season and a partial quota harvest, further pressuring results.
Both adjusted EBITDA and EBIT fell compared with the same quarter a year earlier, reflecting weaker operational performance across its salmon and trout operations. Austevoll Seafood did not provide updated guidance for future quarters or the full year.
