Arkadian Strategic Metals Plc has concluded 2026 field work at its Motzfeldt Critical Metals Project in South Greenland, collecting four bulk samples from the Aries mineral resource area for further analysis in the UK.
The samples, each weighing between 500 kg and 600 kg, were transported by helicopter to Narsarsuaq before being placed in transit to the United Kingdom. The material will undergo mineralogical and mineral-processing assessments to support project development.
Field activities included hyperspectral scanning at Merino and Voskop, with TheiaX GmbH deploying tripod-mounted hyperspectral cameras. Two scanning locations were completed at Voskop and six at Merino. Point-spectra data was gathered at Aries, alongside photogrammetry across all three target areas. A total of 198 field spectrometer data points were collected from 40 locations within the Aries resource area to identify spectral responses linked to neodymium and calibrate satellite data.
Environmental baseline studies were also conducted by BioApp ApS at potential infrastructure sites, recording indicator flora and fauna and establishing environmental conditions. Bathymetric surveys were performed at two prospective port locations to assess feasibility.
Exploration targeted a north-south-trending mineralised zone identified through historic mapping, with tantalum responses used as an indicator for pyrochlore-bearing mineralisation. Arkadian holds a 51% stake in the Motzfeldt project, which is part of its broader portfolio including operations in Wales such as Clogau, Dolgellau Gold Exploration, and Gwynfynydd.
