Argentina’s economic activity grew 2.7% in June compared with the same month a year earlier, the national statistics agency reported on Thursday.
The increase surpassed analyst projections for a 1.9% rise and reversed the 0.4% year-on-year gain recorded in May. The data suggests a modest rebound in activity after a period of subdued performance.
Argentina ranks as Latin America’s third-largest economy, though its growth trajectory remains constrained by persistent structural challenges, including high inflation and fiscal imbalances. The latest figures provide limited evidence of sustained stabilization, with policymakers continuing to grapple with balancing short-term stimulus against long-term macroeconomic reforms.
