London-listed Aminex plc’s subsidiary Ndovu Resources Limited has issued a Notice of Dispute to ARA Petroleum Tanzania Limited (APT) and The Zubair Corporation LLC over alleged breaches of contractual obligations tied to the Ntorya Gas Development in Tanzania.
The dispute centers on APT’s decision to replace the 2026 Work Programme and Budget approved by the joint venture, Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), and the Petroleum Upstream Regulatory Authority (PURA). Under the approved program, APT was required to drill the CH-1 obligation well as part of the Ruvuma PSA project. Ndovu alleges APT sought to substitute this with alternative programs that delayed CH-1 drilling, reduced commitment to the obligation well, and lacked necessary approvals.
Ndovu stated that APT’s actions resulted in material delays, limited expenditure, and minimal work during 2026, leaving the approved program unimplemented. The dispute notice initiates a 90-day period for the parties to pursue an amicable resolution.
If unresolved, Ndovu may escalate the matter to the London Court of International Arbitration and pursue rights against Zubair under the Parent Company Guarantee. Aminex reiterated its commitment to collaborating with APT, TPDC, and the Government of Tanzania to advance development and production at Ntorya.
