Alliance Laundry Systems International Inc. shares fell on Tuesday after the company announced a secondary offering of 6.25 million shares, diluting existing stakes.
The commercial laundry equipment maker said the offering would be conducted by selling stockholders, not the company itself, and proceeds would go to those shareholders. Alliance Laundry did not receive any proceeds from the sale, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The planned offering follows a strong year for the company, which reported revenue growth in 2024 amid rising demand for industrial laundry equipment. Alliance Laundry has not provided details on the timing of the secondary sale or the expected price per share.
Investors typically view secondary offerings as a sign of potential overvaluation or a need for liquidity among early backers, which can pressure share prices. The stock was down 3% in midday trading on Tuesday, extending losses from the prior session.
Alliance Laundry, based in Ripon, Wisconsin, supplies equipment to hotels, hospitals and industrial laundries globally. The company went public in 2021 at $22 per share, and its stock has since traded above and below that level amid broader market volatility.
Analysts said the secondary offering could weigh on sentiment in the near term, though long-term fundamentals remain tied to industrial equipment demand and operational efficiency.
