AEVEX Corp. and Divergent Technologies Inc. have formed a partnership to develop an autonomous platform for unmanned systems using advanced manufacturing techniques. The collaboration leverages AEVEX’s experience in unmanned systems, AI-enabled mission software, and defense solutions with Divergent’s Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS).
The DAPS platform integrates AI-driven design optimization, additive manufacturing, robotic assembly, and model-based certification to compress development timelines and reduce part counts. The companies will focus on adaptive airframe architectures and digitally defined manufacturing processes to enable scalable production of unmanned systems.
Initial efforts will center on adaptable airframe concepts, rapid integration workflows, and digitally enabled production methods. The partnership aims to improve responsiveness and flexibility in the development and delivery of future unmanned systems.
AEVEX, headquartered in Solana Beach, California, operates vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing facilities across multiple U.S. locations. The company has delivered thousands of unmanned systems globally and provides solutions for national security customers, including ISR and electronic warfare systems.
Divergent, founded in 2014, operates multiple adaptive factories and supplies manufacturing solutions for aerospace, defense, and industrial programs. The company’s DAPS platform is designed to accelerate production cycles while maintaining certification standards.
Manan Patel, Chief Technology Officer at AEVEX, stated that the collaboration allows the company to evaluate next-generation manufacturing concepts that could enhance future unmanned system development. Lukas Czinger, Co-Founder and CEO of Divergent, noted that the partnership aims to deliver mass production at the pace of operational need.
