Shares of Adani Energy Solutions gained 1.5% on Wednesday after the company secured a ₹4,700 crore power transmission contract in Maharashtra through a competitive bidding process.
The project, awarded to the Adani unit via the lowest bid in a tariff-based auction, involves the construction of 562 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and the addition of 9,000 megavolt-amperes (MVA) of transformation capacity. The infrastructure is designed to support the evacuation of up to 4,500 megawatts of renewable and storage energy, while also strengthening the inter-regional transmission corridor between India’s Western and Southern grids.
The contract will be executed by a newly formed special purpose vehicle, Satara Power Transmission Ltd., with a scheduled completion timeline of 36 months.
The development follows Adani Energy Solutions’ inclusion in the MSCI India Index, effective August 31, 2026. Analysts estimate the rebalancing could generate approximately $310 million in passive inflows for the company.
The company also reported a 124% year-over-year increase in net profit to ₹1,149 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, alongside a 42% rise in revenues to ₹9,711 crore. Indian equities traded higher during the session, with the Nifty and BSE Sensex both recording gains.
