Adani Energy Solutions advanced 1.5% on Wednesday after securing a ₹4,700 crore power transmission contract in Maharashtra and gaining inclusion in the MSCI India Index.
The company was awarded the project through a Tariff Based Competitive Bidding process, emerging as the lowest bidder. The contract covers 562 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 9,000 MVA of transformation capacity, designed to evacuate up to 4,500 MW of renewable and storage power. The transmission infrastructure will also strengthen the inter-regional corridor between the Western and Southern grids. Work will be executed by Satara Power Transmission Ltd, a newly formed special purpose vehicle, with completion targeted within 36 months.
Separately, MSCI announced that Adani Energy Solutions will be added to the MSCI India Index effective August 31, 2026, which analysts estimate could drive approximately $310 million in passive inflows.
The stock’s gains followed a 124% year-on-year surge in net profit to ₹1,149 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, alongside a 42% rise in sales to ₹9,711 crore. Indian equity benchmarks provided a supportive backdrop, with the Nifty and BSE Sensex both advancing during the session.
