ZenaTech, Inc. said it has been selected for the Government of Canada's Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) Marketplace, establishing the company as a pre-qualified supplier to compete for future defense and security drone requirements supporting the Canadian Armed Forces and Canadian Coast Guard.
The marketplace, launched by the Government of Canada in July 2026, does not constitute the award of any procurement contract. Instead, qualification places ZenaTech in a pre-qualified pool from which it can apply and bid on individual future requirements.
ZenaTech holds listings on the Nasdaq under the ticker ZENA, as well as on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FSE: 49Q) and the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV: ZENA). The announcement was issued from Toronto on September 17, 2026.
Shaun Passley, Ph.D., ZenaTech's chief executive officer, called the selection "an important milestone for our growing defense business." He added that the company has been investing in autonomous drone technology, artificial intelligence, manufacturing and advanced capabilities designed for real-world defense and government applications, and noted that ZenaTech looks forward to demonstrating how its ZenaDrone solutions can contribute to Canada's objective of building a strong domestic drone and autonomous systems industry.
"Our goal is to continue advancing our technology and manufacturing capabilities so that ZenaDrone can become an important supplier of autonomous drone solutions to Canada and allied governments," Passley said.
ZenaTech's product portfolio includes the ZenaDrone 1000, a multifunction autonomous drone platform built for surveillance, reconnaissance, logistics and specialized cargo missions under the ISR defense category; the system is currently in the testing stage. The company's IQ Series encompasses the IQ Nano for indoor inventory management and security, the IQ Square for outdoor inspections and maintenance, the IQ Quad for land surveying and mapping, and the IQ Aqua for underwater applications. Other models referenced in the company's forward-looking disclosures include the ZenaTech 2000, IQ Glider, IQ Sphere and Interceptor P-1.
Also in development are counter-UAS maritime interceptor drones and a launch and refueling station, both part of an integrated defense system.
On the operations side, ZenaTech is expanding its manufacturing facilities across three global locations: Arizona, Dubai and Taiwan. Its operational footprint spans North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
