Lazard, Inc. (NYSE: LAZ), a global financial advisory firm founded in 1848, has appointed Daniel Burton-Morgan as Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Markets Advisory for North America. Burton-Morgan will oversee strategic equity capital markets (ECM) advisory services, including initial public offerings (IPOs), follow-on and secondary offerings, and block trades, based in New York. This expansion follows Lazard’s existing ECM advisory presence in Europe and strengthens its capabilities across North America, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
Burton-Morgan brings over two decades of experience in equity capital markets, previously serving as Head of Americas ECM Financial Sponsor Origination at Bank of America. His appointment aligns with Lazard’s broader strategic capital solutions and financial advisory efforts under Tim Donahue, Global Head of Strategic Capital Solutions and Co-Head of Financial Advisory in North America. Donahue emphasized Burton-Morgan’s expertise, stating that his track record in IPOs, block trades, and sponsor relationships would benefit Lazard’s client base.
The role reflects Burton-Morgan’s academic background—a First-Class degree in Management Science from the University of Warwick—and his career trajectory in advising on complex capital-raising transactions. Lazard’s expansion into North America underscores its continued growth in ECM advisory services, complementing its established operations in other regions.
