Hafnia Buys Additional 4.39% Stake in TORM for $145.1 Million

Hafnia Limited announced the purchase of 4.5 million A shares in product tanker operator TORM plc for approximately $145.1 million, representing a 4.39% stake in the company based on issued and outstanding share capital as of the announcement date.

The shares were acquired at $32.25 per share, according to the press release. The transaction is expected to raise Hafnia's aggregate stake in TORM from approximately 13.83% to roughly 18.22%, making it one of the larger single shareholders in the Copenhagen- and Nasdaq-listed product tanker company.

Hafnia, headquartered in Singapore with offices in Copenhagen, Houston, and Dubai, owns and operates around 180 vessels transporting crude oil, oil products, and chemicals worldwide and employs more than 4,000 people. TORM is a product tanker company listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and NASDAQ under the ticker TRMD.

The two firms are among the largest independent tanker owners globally, and the acquisition deepens Hafnia's exposure to the product tanker segment. No information was disclosed regarding the timing of completion or whether regulatory approvals are required for the transaction.
