Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE) has raised prices on its acetyl products across all major global regions, the company announced on September 21, 2026.
Price increases are effective immediately or as existing contracts allow, according to the company. Celanese did not provide reasons for the adjustments.
The hike spans four acetyl products with region-specific increments:
Acetic acid will increase by $0.045 per pound in the United States and Canada, $100 per metric ton in Mexico and South America, and €100 per metric ton across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Vinyl acetate monomer will rise by $0.06 per pound in the U.S. and Canada, $150 per metric ton in Mexico and South America, and €100 per metric ton in EMEA.
Ethyl acetate is increasing by $0.045 per pound in North America, $100 per metric ton in Latin America, and €150 per metric ton in EMEA — the steepest regional adjustment among the four products.
Acetic anhydride will see a uniform increase of $0.045 per pound in the U.S. and Canada, $100 per metric ton in Mexico and South America, and €100 per metric ton in EMEA.
Celanese, which employs more than 11,000 people worldwide, reported 2025 net sales of $9.5 billion. The Irving, Texas-based company operates as a producer of chemical and specialty materials.
