CCL Industries on Tuesday reported second-quarter 2026 earnings that exceeded analyst expectations, but its shares fell as investors weighed the results against broader market conditions.

The Toronto-based label and packaging producer said net income rose to $158 million from $142 million in the same period a year earlier, while revenue increased 8.2% to $1.2 billion. Adjusted earnings per share came in at 98 cents, topping the 92-cent consensus estimate compiled by Refinitiv, according to the company’s earnings call transcript.

Operating margins expanded to 12.4% from 11.9% in Q2 2025, driven by higher volumes and cost efficiencies. Management highlighted strong demand in North America and Europe, offsetting softer performance in Asia-Pacific. The company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 guidance, projecting organic revenue growth of 6-8% and adjusted EPS of $3.70-$3.90.

Despite the earnings beat, CCL Industries’ shares fell 2.1% in after-hours trading, underperforming the S&P/TSX Composite Index. Analysts attributed the decline to concerns over rising input costs and potential margin pressure in the second half of the year.

CCL Industries is a major supplier of labels, packaging, and specialty materials to industries including consumer goods, healthcare, and industrial applications. The company has operations in over 40 countries and serves clients such as Procter & Gamble, Unilever, and Pfizer.
