Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE: BUD) has allocated $23 million to expand its Fort Collins, Colorado, brewery, as part of a $600 million investment plan targeting U.S. operations through 2026 under its Brewing Futures initiative. The facility, established in 1988, already accounts for $93 million in cumulative investments since 2021 and produces 48 brands, including Michelob ULTRA, Busch Light, Budweiser, and Bud Light. The expansion will enhance rail capacity and introduce new capabilities for producing 25-ounce cans of Michelob ULTRA, a key brand in the company’s portfolio. Additionally, the brewery remains one of two facilities in the company’s network dedicated to producing emergency drinking water, having supplied over 100 million cans to disaster-affected communities since its inception.
A technical skills training center will be established at the Fort Collins site, joining 15 new centers nationwide. The initiative aims to upskill more than 90% of the company’s manufacturing workforce over the next five years, focusing on electrical and mechanical systems related to brewery operations. CEO Brendan Whitworth emphasized the investment’s role in strengthening production and delivery capabilities for consumer favorites like Michelob ULTRA. The expansion aligns with broader industry trends in workforce development and operational efficiency, reflecting Anheuser-Busch’s commitment to innovation and community engagement.
The Colorado State Representative Andrew Boesenecker highlighted the investment as a significant boost for the local economy and state, underscoring its alignment with broader economic development goals.
