Abitibi Metals Corp. reported drill results at its B26 Polymetallic Deposit in Québec, highlighting one of the strongest copper-equivalent intersections encountered at the site to date.
Hole 1274-25-366-W1 returned 1.25% CuEq over 60.2 metres beginning at 548.8 metres downhole, comprising 1.08% copper, 0.14 g/t gold, 5.04 g/t silver and 0.03% zinc. The interval included a 18.8-metre segment averaging 2.45% CuEq and a 9.2-metre high-grade zone grading 3.72% CuEq (3.42% Cu, 0.26 g/t Au, 9.86 g/t Ag, 0.02% Zn).
The project is located 7 kilometres southeast of the formerly producing Selbaie Mine. Cut-offs were calculated using metal prices of $4.50/lb copper, $1.50/lb zinc, $28.00/oz silver and $3,000/oz gold. Current spot prices stand at $5.60/lb copper, $1.50/lb zinc, $75.00/oz silver and $4,650/oz gold.
Drilling in the western down-plunge zone targeted step-out areas measuring approximately 130 by 320 metres. Hole 1274-26-378W2 intercepted 1.45% CuEq over 14.1 metres from 985.3 metres depth, including 2.21% CuEq over 5.9 metres. An adjacent hole, 1274-26-378W1A, returned 0.66% CuEq over 40 metres, incorporating a 7.6-metre interval at 1.65% CuEq. A wedge hole at 1274-26-387-W1 intersected high-grade silver-zinc mineralization grading 41.1 g/t Ag and 1.0% zinc over 20.6 metres, including 69.9 g/t Ag and 1.7% zinc over 11.1 metres and 111.75 g/t Ag and 3.0% zinc over 4.5 metres.
The same wedge hole also encountered narrow high-grade copper-gold zones, including 9.54% CuEq over 0.5 metres and 4.32% CuEq over 1.8 metres. Hole 1274-26-386 tested the upper western extension with 7.0 metres at 0.32% CuEq. Down-dip continuity was confirmed at roughly 1,417 metres in hole 1274-24-342-W1.
Metallurgical recovery factors from SGS testing are 98.3% for copper, 90.0% for gold, 96.1% for zinc and 72.1% for silver. Local interpretation indicates true widths generally correspond to 60% to 94% of the core length.
The B26 Deposit carries an indicated resource of 12.96 million tonnes at 2.08% CuEq (1.19% Cu, 1.16% Zn, 0.44 g/t Au, 30.8 g/t Ag) and an inferred resource of 12.34 million tonnes at 2.20% CuEq (1.60% Cu, 0.16% Zn, 0.68 g/t Au, 8.1 g/t Ag), per a NI 43-101 technical report effective November 1, 2024.
Jonathon Deluce, chief executive officer, said the B26 system remains open at depth and along strike, with up to three drill rigs expected on site for the remainder of 2026 to advance definition drilling and expand deposit limits. Results will be incorporated into a future resource update, Louis Gariépy, P.Eng., the qualified person under National Instrument 43-101, stated in a separate release.
